Setesdal is perfect for trips on two or four wheels – with winding roads, magnificent scenery and cozy stopping points. Sølvgarden is located in the middle of Setesdal, and has become a natural meeting place for motorcycle groups, car clubs and other driving enthusiasts on trips through Southern Norway.

Suleskarvegen is more than a mountain pass – it is an experience in itself. This narrow and winding road between Setesdal and Rogaland takes you through dramatic high mountain terrain, past snowdrifts in late spring and over heaths with magnificent views. The road is closed in winter, and that is exactly what makes the drive extra special in the months when it is open. Many motorcycle groups, car clubs and adventurous travelers use Sølvgarden as a base for a few days – with good meals, comfortable accommodation and socializing in the city center.

Sølvgarden is located in the middle of the junction between north - south and east - west. With short distances to many roads that are particularly suitable for car and motorcycle tours. Approx. 2 hours from Stavanger and Kristiansand, approx. 1 hour from Telemark, Hovden and Evje, and 1,5 hours to the Lysefjord.

A favorite for many is Brokke–Suleskarvegen, which opens on May 21 at 12:00 every year – a spectacular route through the high mountains to Lysebotn, perfectly combined with a hike to Kjeragsbolten. Preikestolen, Setesdal north towards Haukelifjell and west to Dalen in Telemark are also great day trips with lots to see. For motorcycle riders who like gravel and adventure, the area offers many narrow, historic routes and gravel roads that are well suited for "Adventure" riding. Local cultural monuments such as Rygnestadloftet and Tveitetunet give the trip an extra dimension.
